I was going up a hill on my way home. As I was going up three lights came on - the safety light (yellow triangle with !), the stop-start button and the engine light. The car would not go above 2nd gear and acceleration was hard. I managed to get the car up to the top of the hill where I switched off the engine. When I restarted the car was fine and drove normally. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Hi all, I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with. I recently bought a Ford KA Edge 2013. However the Stop / Start never seems to work. I'm aware that the battery needs to be fully charged, which is the case as the car was driven 200 miles a few days ago but still the start / stop isn't working. The temperature isn't cold and when I do stop in the car at traffic lights, on the trip computer it displays "A OFF" I'm not sure what this means and why the feature isn't working. Any help/advice appreciated.

I have had the stop/start battery replaced on my KA but it still doesn't work? All requirements are met so I do not understand why it is not working. My bluetooth also disconnects after 20 seconds

Answers

Hi, as long as you have the correct battery fitted (EHF enhanced flooded battery) for start/ stop you need to reset the battery monitor sensor to tell it a new battery has been fitted and unable it to work again. If is a KA2 you will need to disconnect the battery monitor sensor which is a multi plug found on the battery earth lead under bonnet and run the car on idle for approx 10 mins, re connect it and the process is complete and should start to work again. My abs light won't go out,I have had a auto electrician check it,and it's saying low voltage, my brakes are working fine and the abs is working on all four wheels

Answers

A good auto electrician should be able to fix this? Need to check the battery voltage (could be a battery issue) if ok need to check the voltage at the ABS module and grounds. If all ok and has good voltage would suspect the ABS module. John westwood from Essex

It could simply be a light bulb has blown or it could be the oil pressure switch failure, parking sensors or fuel contamination. Hugh from Cavan

A warning ?? triangle on dash is a warning of something wrong and should be followed by a message of what it is on start up? Could be something simple like a bulb out or a door open but it should tell you in the cluster? John westwood from Essex

The passenger side wing mirror doesn't move. Any ideas as to why this may be? An if so what i should do about it?

Answers

If it is a KA2 (2009 onwards) and is no voltage at the passenger side mirror when operated, check the wiring inside the rubber grommet at the drivers door (open the drivers door wide and you will see it. Is the wiring coming into the door from the vehicle body. If you look inside their at the wiring it will be broken and in need of repair. John westwood from Essex

Hi I have just bought Ford KA 2011 Titanium. How many rear rear Fog Lights are on this vehicle. Only the Drivers sideFog light comes on. Should there be one on the passenger side. Or Is this for the reversing light. please advise Thanks Paul

Answers

Only one fog light on all KA's and should be the drivers side rear as standard. Only needs this one for the MOT (believe the street and sport KA's had a circle on in middle of rear bumper though) John westwood from Essex

I have a orange star which is displayed on the dashboard panel which stays on whether the weather is warm or cold should this light go out when the weather is warm , Thank you Liz .

Answers

The orange star you refer to is actually a snowflake symbol. It comes on as an orange light when the temp is 4 deg C but once the temp gets to 0 deg C it turns red. and turns on the heated screens when you switch on at first. The sensor is located in the door mirror, supposedly the L/H door mirror for the UK but wiring diagrams seem to differ for the L/H drive and the R/H drive. It should not illuminate above 4 deg C but it will be costly to replace since it comes as part of the door mirror. Hugh from City of Glasgow

I have a ford KA 2007 and the heater rattles from the left passenger side, I don't know if this is a heater problem or a more delicate problem. It's just come back from the garage after having the breaks replaced. Also the engine ticks, a loud tick, repetitively when the engine is with about a 1 minute interlude. They did not pick up on either of these problems whilst the car was at the garage and i can't afford to take it back right now as I'm the typical poor student haha. If anyone knows anything that might help, it would be appreciated.

Hi, Wondering if anybody can help, I have a ford Ka Mk2 and struggling to find how to change the sidelights. Has anybody done this before or know how to do it? Thanks. Gavin.

Answers

I take it you mean front sidelight bulbs? If so then you need to jack up the front end and undo the under-wing plastic guards to get your hand up behind the front lights. A real pain! See if Halfords will do it for £4.99. That would be a bargain! john Beer from Hampshire
