Have a Ford Kuga 2014 fw drive, never had any probs until today, it just will not start. Lights work radio works but nothing from the engine. When you press the start button it just beeps saying ignition turn off. Battery tested all OK so now I'm stumped as to what's wrong with it? My friend who is a car mechanic had a look and said its confused him and I probably need a pc repair as it like a computer on wheels. So any ideas?

Purchased my 66 reg. Kuga a week ago, however when driving, the headlights are on even when the headlight switch is in the "off" position and also the dashboard display doesn't indicate that my headlights are on even though they are! Could someone advise please?

Answers

Is the daytime running lights maybe? Is law to have them fitted on new cars from I think 2014? You Ford dealer should be able to advise you? They should also be able to tell you if is any outstanding recalls on you headlights as I know is software updates to fix some issues if applicable John westwood from Essex

i have had my ford Kuga for 6 weeks now and when my fuel tank is between 3/4 and full there`s a nasty thump. depending on the recoil of the car after braking it can be one thump or several, its becoming very irritating but i have been told by the garage who supplied it that it normal. is this correct? if so i`m in for quite a few noisy journeys.

Answers

Hi. Mine is doing this. It's the fuel in the tank sloshing around. It is quite loud though. Had my Kuga less than a week and noticed this today after filling her up. Stuart from Derbyshire

I have a 5month old titanium x awd which I acquired through Motability as I am disabled my vehicle has a steering wheel adaption which is a lollipop fitted on the right hand side of the steering wheel.my problem is that I have to use constant effort pushing up to keep the vehicle straight all the normal checks have been done the vehicle has only done 2250 MLS I was just interested if anybody had a problem like this i really like my Kuga but this steering issue is getting to me the vehicle has been back to the dealership but not resolved the Problem

Answers

Don't have an answer but do have a eight week old Kuga 1.5 Titanium x I am not happy with the steering , it seems to be all over the road ,takes over when you hit bumps , steers with the camber when braking. Took it back to Ford dealer ,they kept it for two days , used it as a pool car ,put 86 mile on the clock ,gave it me back and said they couldn't find a fault. The car is still the same and the wife wont drive it! If anybody has any other steering problems can they please put has Ford says they have no input from any other dealer! keith Norcliffe from West Yorkshire

not really an answer, but have you tried changing the steering responsiveness - in settings of steering wheel cluster....can change from sport to normal etc. This may help (at least until you resolve issue) andy from Kent

A message flashed up on my Kuga ______ Engine service required, showing a spanner. The car was serviced in February so it can't be due a service. The car stalled but was able to restart it but once again the same message. After a few minutes I restarted the engine and no more problems. I undertook a 100 mile round trip today with no apparent problems but I am now a bit wary as this message with the spanner is not mentioned in the owners handbook. Anything to worry about? Incidentally the car is only 2 years old with 6748 miles on the clock. I have not been in contact with the dealers as the problem did not manifest itself on the long drive, but I would value your comments, it is a petrol model

I had this on ours, usually after heavy rain water enters the fuse box on the passenger side footwell and causes problems. Remove fusebox and dry out wiring connectors and fuses and should be fine. Either windscreen or a leak on bulkhead Rob from Surrey

Hi, lately their has been a slight diesel smell coming from the front off side of the car. The car had a diesel leak from the fuel return valve 18 months ago which was promptly repaired. Having checked under the bonnet there is no visible sign of a leak nor any oil on the drive etc... anyone have any idea's as to what this could be before I book it in? Kind regards.

The fuel gauge goes to zero, low fuel light comes on and 'Fuel Computer Data Error' is showing. Can anybody suggest a possible cause as this happens even when the tank is full. The Kuga continues to run fine with no other problems. Thanks.

Answers

It could be a problem/failure with the fuel tank sender unit Mick from Portugal

Hi Mick, thanks for the answer however everything else appears to be working correctly i.e. MPG, miles to go before fill up, etc. Wouldn't the tank sender affect this as well? Kind regards Malcolm Malcolm from Cambridgeshire

I would have expected it to affect those as well, I don't know if the low fuel sensor is separate from the level sender, if not then I would guess that it's a gremlin at work in the ECU but it is only a wild guess and as ECU's are expensive I wouldn't go spending your money on a guess of mine. I have an intermittent electrical fault that means my boot and sun roof won't always close. The boot makes the beeping noise like it's closing but won't close and the sun roof goes to close and then flies back open. Ford have had it 5 times and said as it's an intermittent fault they can't do anything. It has now escalated as the Sat Nav, Radio, USB Charging points and display system froze. It then came up saying System Maintenance after about 30 minutes. Ford have had it 5 times now and told me they don't know what to do. The car is only 7 months old now and is a Kuga Titanium X, has anyone else had this problem

Answers

I am having the same problem with the electric tailgate it opened ok with all devices and when you kick under the bumper, however it will not close electronically. Ford have never heard of the problem and for £118.00 + vat they will have a look, and replace anything at fault at an extra charge. This happened just after its third service and 3 days after the warranty expired. Not very happy Car is also a titanium x sport Ron Ron barclay from Aberdeenshire

There is no silver bullet answer for this but suggest you visit the Kuga owners club forum for advice. Hugh from City of Glasgow
