Nissan Navara NP300 Tekna Double Cab 2016

The new NP300 Navara has become far more civilised and SUV-like as it vies to take the segment lead away from the excellent Mitsubishi L200. Though its road manners aren’t perfect, faultless load-carrying credentials, build quality and fuel economy put it straight to the top of the class. [...]

Nissan Qashqai+2 QASHQAI+2 DIESEL HATCHBACK 2010 - 2013

2 star review

I have been driving a NIssan Qashqai +2 for the last 5 years and was happy up to the point when the off side rear door cannot be opened due to the faulty Door Lock Actuator , Door Lock Replacement is needed , but the door cannot be open from insite nor from outside. I called the dealer they have 2 weeks awaiting time and I have children who need access to the back seats. It requires the panel of the door to be taken from inside the car and replace the lock Actuator without damaging the panel. Can anyone please advice how to resolve this as we cannot open the offside rear door.

Nissan Qashqai QASHQAI HATCHBACK SPECIAL EDITIONS 2010 - 2013

5 star review

I have been reading some of the negative reviews of this car and am somewhat surprised. I have owned a Qashqai 1.6dCi ntec+ stop/start since March 2015 and can say I am 100% happy with it. This is my first SUV type vehicle and must say I like the high driving position and ease of getting in and out of the vehicle. The best economy I've had on a long run driving around 55 to 60mph on A and B roads was a staggering 74mpg. Generally on a motorway I get 65mpg driving at around 60 to 65mph. These sort of speeds are fine for me, gone are the days when I used to drive at high speed and I'm talking 100+ mph. If I want to pull away quickly, the car accelerates very well and I don't find it slow or sluggish at all. Maybe I have just been lucky with the car I happened to purchase. It had covered 57,000 miles when I took delivery so perhaps it had been run-in well and driven carefully by its previous owner. The car has a host of extras which are optional extras on most other cars, ie panoramic roof with electric blind, satnav, Bluetooth connectivity, climate control plus stop/start. I did have an issue with the stop/start, with an error code which came up on the dash. I returned it to the dealer and they reset it but it re-occurred. In the end the problem was the battery and once a new one was fitted the stop/start is totally reliable now. All in all I am extremely pleased with the car and on top of that its only £30 per annum road tax. I also drive a motobility Qashqai 1.5dCi ntec+ 2015 model for the person I am a carer to and that performs admirably too but not quite as good as the 1.6

I have a Nissan 2007 model she is on 140 thousand km's, full Service history and recent full service. Currently the nissan cuts out when Im driving. I checked with the Service Agent they confirmed they replaced the petrol filter, but they think this is the Fuel pump. Can anybody confirm this, the problem is completely intermittent you never know when it happens seems to be habitual when I climb hills and gear down. Its also very scary because the power steering shuts down. I also noticed after the service she seems to smoke allot when idle, is this part of the same problem or another Can anyone please assist me. Regards Elton

Nissan Qashqai QASHQAI DIESEL HATCHBACK 2007 - 2010

3 star review

I bought the car new at the time. Both the break pads and the shocks need replacing every year right from the beginning. Also had to replace bearings in one wheel once, a job for which the Nissan dealership quoted me €700. However, an independent garage eventually did this for €300. Another problem I have with the car is that I got only one key with it, and after about 5 years the system at times didn't recognize the key and it can take up to 10 minutes fiddling until I can start the car. When I approached the Nissan dealer where I'd bought the car, I was told that if I wanted a second (new) key they would have to charge me €180 for it. The engine never gave trouble, and the car is both very comfortable and extremely economical.

I never encounter this problem from the other models of Nissan and they all have an average of 35000-40000 KM capacity. I changed the pad and I paid for it while on the 10000 KM service in Nissan. Nissan X-Trail X-TRAIL STATION WAGON 2001 - 2007

5 star review

Got the car via main dealer, was service directors demo, in 2003 and has been brilliant. It has never been garaged, always on street parking and so far with 90k+ has had no major faults. Servicing has been done mainly with main dealers and with their £149 service deal which includes a years euro break down cover (never needed but good when touring around France). The load capcity is good and has shifted large timbers, ballast, trees etc. Came with heated seats, 6 disc cd, full leather, heated mirrors etc and all worked well, shame it didnt have sat nav but happy with map and now phone. Dunlop ST20 grand trek tyres provide good performance and last well. Issues have been few but one was following main dealer service where they did an engine flush and then sensor trouble and car in limp home mode. Sensor changed and all ok, but regret going with that recommendation. Now don't agree to this or additives. Overall, very happy with car.

I have A Nissan Qashqai 1.5 dci and the cam belt failed at 36,000 miles destroying the top half of the engine. I have now had this repaired costing me £1,500 The problem now is how long will this belt last, can I trust it

Responses to this review

I read that the 1.5 DI engine is made by Renault and the water pump bracket can actually shred the cambelt during use - may be worth checking under the bonnet to see if there is any sign of rubbing to the bracket or a witness mark on the cambelt. - brian holliday from Hertfordshire

Nissan Primera PRIMERA HATCHBACK 2002 - 2006

1 star review

Firstly can we establish that Primera P12's (the last version made) are NOT Japanese. They are made in the UK using a mix bag of parts including some awful Renault electrical components. The Nissan Primera petrol version in 1.8 guise is an abomination of a car, combining all that is wrong with British and French cars, and little that is right. The 1.8 engine is underpowered - just 112bhp from a whopping big engine is poor, especially as my childs 1.1 city car develops almost that. The engine is also cam chain driven, which will and does 'stretch', which is an £800+ job to fix. The 1.8 is also notorious for heavy oil consumption, so much so that it is possible to run an engine dry between services if the levels are not topped up each month. The ABS system is prone to ring cracking and corrosion, with the front rings (a £5 part) requiring the complete dismantling of the suspension and replacement of the driveshaft to change (at £400 per side including labour!!). The electric windows suffer from the same issues as all Renaults eventually do, as does the 'electronic' locking system and electric boot release. Built quality is no better than any 2000 decade British or French car, with lots of cheap trim when you look closely. I have just been presented with an estimate for a minimum of £1100 to repair all the various faults that have occured with mine, an almost mint condition 1 owner car with just 60000 miles covered, and a FULL service history!. Oh, and its still got 9 months MOT still left! Needless to say it is now cheaper simply to scrap the car than risk an open ended 4 figure repair bill. Avoid the 1.8 version like the plague. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I'm on my 2nd P12 Primera now (after covering 75,000 trouble free miles in my 1st) which is an 06 SX Hatch and no probs at all, bought the car with just 3 months Mot left on it and guess what, yep you go it right it went straight through its test without checking a bulb cos I just put it in I knew it would pass. Just had the car serviced 6 months after this and it does not use a drop of oil, runs and drives as sweet as a nut, and returns 40plus mpg. - Keith Kelly from West Yorkshire

Nissan Qashqai QASHQAI DIESEL HATCHBACK 2010 - 2013

2 star review

Bought the 1.6Dci from new. Decent spec but lots of plastic inside and well documented niggly faults eg back lid does not go all the way up. Good fuel economy at 57mpg on a long run. Two steering recalls and a brake caliper sticking and replaced. Nothing remarkable about the car. At 60000 miles and 6 months out of warranty the hydraulics went, the car was stuck in gear and had it not been that my wife was leaving the estate at low speed there could have been serious consequences as she had to brake and stall the car to halt it. On a main road this does not bear thinking. It transpires that the dual mass flywheel had failed and a new one was required with clutch and slave cylinder .A repair of almost £2000. A flywheel is hardly a consumable. At three and half years old the failure of a significant structural engine part is not what one would expect of a vehicle of this mileage and alleged quality. I contacted Nissan who took no interest excusing themselves as the repair was not carried out by their dealer and thus could not extend any goodwill! They completely ignored the circumstance of the failure of a major component part of their product and the danger it poses. I wonder if anyone has had similar difficulties.I will not be buying another Nissan.

Nissan Note NOTE HATCHBACK 2009 - 2013

4 star review

I bought the 1.4 Note petrol aspirated second hand in Menorca. It had 70,000km on the clock. It developed two faults, one immediately. The air conditioning did not work properly and emitted an awful stink. This was supposedly rectified. We seldom use this facility but in the summer our children do. It failed again when they did so. The local garage who sold me the car produced some alarming estimates to rectify it, one approximating to 5000 euros! This involved rewiring the entire system. The second problem was the l/h rear wheel bearing that was found faulty at 80,000km (50,000 miles). This seems a very premature failure to me. No one seems to have any explanation except "bad luck". Anyone any experience of similar problems with this model?

Nissan Micra C + C MICRA C + C 2005 - 2009

4 star review

Excellent little car, bought from a local garage Autoshine of Bristol . The car was found to have a broken catch on headlight ,headlight bulb blown , wheel assembly not tightened , passenger door lock faulty etc. My local mechanic fixed all the faults , gave it a full service and I am delighted with the car. After driving a Honda Del Sol sports car it seemed a little sluggish in lower gears but to compare is unfair given that the Nissan is a very heavy car for its size. I found the car to be excellent on motorways , very stable even with the top down , and very easy to park with the excellent light steering. The roof works very well and overall it is a great fun and also practical car. Even with the roof down the boot is adequate and the small rear seats double as extra carrying space.

The Pixo has good fuel consumption but inside temperature in my car is like you are in the tropics, what ever the weather! I agree with other reviews the front tyres get worn out quickly. I went to the Nissan dealer because I surfed the Internet to find a recall notice on my model. I just had to find my nearest dealership for them to fix an issue with the engine overheating. Overall a good car but I will be selling it because it is too hot inside the car. It is a shame because it is cheap on fuel.

Nissan Micra MICRA HATCHBACK SPECIAL EDITION 2014 - 2016

Why, when the back window is wound down does my Micra make a droning noise? It is most annoying. I bought it in 2014, took it back to Glyn Hopkin from who I purchased it and they seem to think it is normal. To me it sounds like something wrong?

Responses to this review

This is normal in the 2010-15 micra. It is a design issue and the wind noise can be reduced by putting the front window down a little or fitting wind deflectors on the windows. - from City of Edinburgh

Nissan Primera PRIMERA HATCHBACK 2002 - 2006

5 star review

I bought an 04 Primera 1.8 SE Hatchback and ran it for 4 years and covered 75,000 miles before it was written off by two lunatics racing on a dual carriageway. Over the 4 year period of running the car other than servicing it every 8,000 miles and a set of boots (tyres) it cost me £0 and went through all of its MoT's without advisories. The car ran and drove excellently and without fault from day one to the day it was written off and never let me down once thus I have no gripes and nothing but praise for the vehicle which drives like a big car, has a safe feel to it and returned me 40+mpg. Thus flowing from the sad loss of what can only be described as a "great value for money" car I had to get another so I have now replaced it with a mint 06 Primera 1.8 SX Hatchback with the added Cruise, Sat Nav, bluetooth, etc, etc.
