I have 3 real niggles, You really need to drive it to get anywhere, my Peugeot expert is better... at everything and it has done 1/4 million kilometers. So the Partner, rear suspension does not! wife and I it is OK, Put 3 kids in the back and it bottoms out. It is on a 5 year warranty. The cabin is such that after 10 minutes I stuck bits of carpet on engine bulk head and door as they were causing my knees grief! The seat for the driver is NOT comfortable, I have resorted to putting a chair squab on the seat to sit on as with the poor seat comfort and the crashing out suspension I have more comfort in my 1969 Land Rover!!!I have no option as I am tall and most smaller vehicles require me to cut a hole in the roof or stick my head out of the window, my next vehicle will probably be a restored Morris Minor. Would I buy another...NO If you get one negotiate a 5 year warranty. Oh also check tyre size, vehicles with 255 z 16 tyres only get about 25000 klms each at €140. Change wheels and tyres for 205 x 15 and fit truck tyres eg GT maxmiler and get about 85,000 to 100,000 klms for about €90. Just a stupid thing, I inadvertently put my trailer on the back and it had about 100kg lift, yes I know it was wrong but options I did not have. The suspension was now very good.

I bought a 2016peugeot partner teepee automatic,it pulls to the left, had geometric tests done on it,still pulls,I would like my money back,as I'm.in rights of 30 days, peugeot have said no,I said I've been in contact with trading standards,he turned round and said see you in court, hubby and I have had a stressful time, over this, can anyone help us,

How did you get on. I am guessing that the front stub axle may have been bent, by clobbering something, even before you got it say on the low loader delivery vehicle. The immediately obvious sign will be the tyre wear on the side with the damage. normally the outside of just that tyre will scrub off. if I am right, then all the component parts should be changed, hub, wishbone and possibly suspension leg. Please let us know what happened. - Roger Mew from France

Hi there, peugeot kept blaming the camber of the road, we got trading standards involved , we had footage of car veering over the road, really dangerous, my husband is still poorly, getting worse, I was crying g over the phone, and in front of them, they agreed after a lengthy battle to exchange the car for a 3008, they wouldn't give us the money back, as they said there was nothing g wrong g with the car, the tyres did keep wearing out - jane caron from Wiltshire

2014 1.6 hdi model, low mileage. I have a sound which I thought was a loose exhaust. noticeable when accelerating up through the gears. Took it back to the dealers, a journey of about 15 miles on a hot day. By the time I got there this annoying noise had all but disappeared, and the car was more of a pleasure to drive. I was told it was not an exhaust problem but 'injector detonation noise' and is common on this type of engine. It will disappear when the engine is warmed up. I was further told that enhanced fuels...ie BP ultimate/Shell v power may reduce the 'problem'. Rather disappointed to be honest because the noise is annoying me ! I don't remember it from the test drive either .......mmmmm.......... car warmed up before I wonder?

I parked my car outside my house. I am on a short hill. Applied the Hand brake. Got some things from the side door, went into the house. I came out 15min later to find the car at the bottom of the hill. Is there any Reported problems with the hand break?

Hi, just got a new 2015 Peugeot Partner Premier only 1000 miles on the clock and gear box has a chatter when it`s ticking over, put your foot on the clutch and it goes way. When the guy came out to listen to it he told me it sounds like it might need a new gear box and they would be in touch. Next day I got a call from Peugeot saying not to worry they all make this noise

Responses to this review

I have a 2014 Peugeot Partner Tepee, 1.6 hdi. Mine has the same noise especially noticeable when in a garage/enclosed space. I was told by Peugeot that this was 'normal'. However, I've never experienced a similar noise in nearly 40 years of car ownership. I remain sceptical. - from Essex

I have just bought a used 2011 tepee. it's taking me ten minutes to put 20 pounds worth of diesel in it as the pump keeps clicking off every few seconds. I think this is something to do with the air pressure back flowing up the pipe as I refill ,any way of fixing this?

Responses to this review

I am guessing that you have the anti whatever flap just a little way down the neck you are possibly being too timid in sticking the spout down the hole, just make sure you stuff the pump nozzle all the way in! - Roger Mew from France

Peugeot Partner Tepee 2012

4 star review

We got our Tepee in May 2012 and we have been extremely happy with it. No problems like the other reviewers (yet), but for a change we have every confidence in the garage we got it from. We got it on Motability as I sometimes require a wheelchair for which there is ample room along with my Border Collie and two grand children. The drivers position means no dropping down into the seat as the level is hip height. It is an extremely comfortable ride and the power ratio is pitched just right (not too sluggish, but not a performance car either). There are however a couple of issues: The environmental settings are a pain! You can only have the car on ignition only for a few minutes before the whole vehicle shuts down and then you have to switch the engine on for about 10mins before you can use just the ignition again. So forget it if you want to sit in the car while your wife does some shopping and listen to the radio (if anyone knows how to turn this off I’d be grateful for the info.) The other thing is when I accelerate I can feel the front end go light and lose a certain amount of traction, which doesn’t bode well for the winter snow and ice.

Responses to this review

Hi as to the light front end, have you got 255 x 16 tyres? These are a real pain. As for the radio, I am in the process of dealing with that on mine, it really is an ecological disaster. I am also a radio amateur and need to install a transmitter. I will "cure" both problems as i am a retired electrical engineer. I am guessing that a relay will have to be installed and a separate switch. - Roger Mew from France

Peugeot Partner Tepee 2009

2 star review

I’ve had my Teepee from new, since October 2009 and it has not been a pleasant experience. On the plus side the car was cheap and is very practical with loads of space and storage. It’s also pretty economical for such a big vehicle. Steady driving on the motorway will get you 50+ MPG. From purchase my car suffered from rear end vibration. The dealer identified a loose floor(!) and tried to charge for repairs when the vehicle was only a matter of months old. The ride quality never seemed right and deteriorated to a point where it was appalling. When cold the car had a pronounced clunk from the front suspension and potholes made the whole vehicle shudder. After about a year it went back to the dealers to have the front suspension jaws replaced and they also mentioned another fix, which involved greasing the engine mounts. The new jaws improved things but the road noise and ride quality has steadily become worse. We have had a prominent screech when the car slows down for a long time now plus a steady background rumble and the clunk remains (although nowhere near as frequent or noisy as before). The dealer checked the wheel bearings, but could not find a problem. When I asked about the engine mount fix they said this was not needed. The car only has 15k miles and is mainly used at weekends on motorway journeys so the problems are all the more disappointing. I can’t complain about how the dealer has treated me as such (I should have complained a lot more), but at the same time I don’t feel confident in them. I intend to get the vehicle independently inspected before the warranty ends. I would never buy a Peugeot again and will go back to Toyota or VW. I have a 7 year old Corolla, which feels like a limousine after driving the Teepee. As a final note, my father-in-law has had a Teepee since 2011. He had an earlier Partner Combi, which was okay, so he fancied another. I’ve driven this and whilst it rides much better than mine I would still say the ride quality and noise levels are not that great.

Take it to another dealer, also contact peugeot UK. If you take the car to a couple of different dealers then the Dealers "get the hint". We had a problem with our Expert so took it to another agent and the problem was fixed for pence not mega pounds. We also had problems whilst under warranty so took it to a UK dealer. He found the fault and the French agent (we live in France) had no option but to fix the car. - Roger Mew from France

Peugeot Partner Tepee 2010

3 weeks after purchasing my new taxi I noticed a rip in the rubber around the driver’s door. I did not notice it on delivery but I was not looking for anything like that. Peugeot say it is down to wear and tear after 3 weeks. The fuel gauge does not work properly, this is down to a 50 litre tank replacing the 60 litre tank. The people who did the conversion for Cab Direct say they don’t know how to rectify the problem. The springs had to be replaced as it was grounding out. Now the rear passenger window catch has dropped to bits, the metal pin has fallen off. There had been an on and off rattle for the last 4 days but me and my mate could not locate it. Now that the pin has dropped off the rattle has stopped, pity the window is hanging loose now, obviously it had been working - it’s way loose? Going to the local Peugeot dealer tomorrow, wonder what sh*te he comes out with this time? Taxi has just under 21000 miles on the clock and is 4 months old. I can’t see this Peugeot outlasting our last taxi, a Fiat Doblo which had 270,000 on when we traded it in to Cab Direct.

I have just got a WAV Tepee from constables. Surprise surprise my fuel gauge doesn’t work. I was parked at the supermarket yesterday and a guy knocked on my window to ask if I was having problems with my fuel gauge as his doesn’t work either. This is obviously a problem that has been around for some time, it should be sorted - Colin Bennett from Cheshire

I’ve just bought a WAV Tepee from Cab Direct. My fuel gauge works just fine. I have had no real problems with the car thus far, although it did throw a hissy fit last weekend when the lights and wipers worked on their own! I couldn’t even start it! I got a spare key and it all started working fine again! I average 46mpg and find it drives well for what is essentially a van with windows! I would say that Cab Direct need to up their game when it comes to customer care and satisfaction. One problem that winds me up is the air intake in the engine bay. It rattles like a pig! I tightened the bolt but after a week, it comes loose again. I have to admit that the interior plastics could be better quality, but like I said, it’s basically a van with windows! Also the doors do come in with a crash!! Maybe some kind of damping system on the door restraint would help! The WAV conversion is earning its keep and I have no issues to report with it. Some have complained that the early conversions included re-routing the brake lines etc and this brought its own problems, including brake failure (!) and the floor pan being weakened. Again, I’ve not had it long enough to notice too many issues. I do wish that the 12v ciggy lighter was permanently live and the radio also. I find that my dab adapter is hardly getting used, due to all the messing around with no permanent live! All my passengers have commented on how comfortable the car is, and how much leg room is available in the rear seats. My wheelchair fares like the way you are not stuck down the back, as in a minibus conversion! Overall, not a bad little car, but could be better in some areas just to make it a much more pleasant place to be for a cabbie! - Chris Hammond from Sussex

As stated to another user, take the car to another Peugeot dealer. You may well get a different response, AND the original dealer is then aware that you have gone elsewhere. - Roger Mew from France

This has been converted to a WAV. Had this car a week done 150 miles, does drive very nice. Reverse gear judders like mad, thought this could be down to my driving style as I am used to driving vans. But no matter how I approach the reverse gear there is no change, seems to get worse the more time I am out in it. As this affects 1st gear, and notice a slight judder on the drive. Also noticing a squeaky suspension. I am thinking that I should contact the dealer to check this out this week.

Has your problem been sorted by the dealer on your car? We have experienced problems similar to yourself with first gear jumping out of gear but also we have had braking problems with both hand and foot brakes - Al S from England
