Problems with the switches for drivers control of all windows and internal locking. I have power to all fuses, but the passager windows go down and not up when you use the rocker switches. Also I can lock the doors by using the door handle .yet not via the button. I have had the door panel off and the brown wire is still connected. So could it be possible that the window motor has packed up. And is causing other issues.

Answers

Hi I have recently purchased a Seat Alhambra 1.9 tdi se. The drivers door switch assembly only partially works! The switch for locking the door doesn't work at all, the drivers window wont go up or down, the passenger doors only go down, and the window lock does actually work! I have tried the switches on the other doors and they all function correctly. I have purchased a brand new switch assembly for the drivers door and fitted that and it still has the same problems! Can anyone help? derekwheater from Lincolnshire

The passenger side door mirror raises up instead of lowering when reverse selected, is there an easy way to fix it or is it back to dealer, brand new vehicle.

Answers

It may well be a software issue with the seat memory module so would be dealer fix. Meanwhile you may be able to turn off the feature in the settings menu. Hugh from City of Glasgow

Light bulb on dash board will not go off. I have replaced both bulbs, clear and coloured. Any ideas? Mot on Friday.

Answers

Janine there's no point replacing the bulbs in the dashboard warning system unless you establish what is causing it to be on. It could be warning you of catastrophe looming or something really simple. resolve the cause first. As far as MOT concerned and depending which bulb it is.. you may be able to take it out for the MOT R Evans from Caerphilly

besides... why replace a bulb that clearly is working ? R Evans from Caerphilly

When I reverse my SEAT Alhambra I get a screeching sound from the front passenger side. I have had it checked twice but keep getting told everything looks okay. Does anyone know of this please?

Answers

I had this problem myself & i was able to fix it myself .It's caused by a metal plate that is just behind the brake disc, it is rubbing against the disc & then vibrating making the very tinney noise .All you need to do is push it away from the disc slightly. Hendawg from Antrim

Stiff turning key in drivers side door lock any help please .

Answers

Have you tried lubricating the lock?? A few squirts of WD40 (or similar) into the lock to get it going then every year two or three drops of oil on your key and 'wiggle' it about in the lock. R Evans from Caerphilly

all the two remote controls of my seat alhambra don't open the car, the alarm goes on often when the car is locked, the driver's door doesnot open from outside, information on the dashboard can't be read well, the car often locks automatically. thanks for your respond

Answers

You need to reprogram it. Try this: 1. get all the car keys 2. close all the windows and doors 3. insert key into drivers door lock 4. Turn key the the unlock position 3 times, then remove the key (not when turning the key to the unlock position hold for at lease half a second (0.5s) 5. Within 5 seconds point the key at the IR (infra-red) receiver (usually near the rear view mirror) and press and hold the lock button, whilst continuing to hold the lock button press the unlock button 3 times then release the lock button..... If you have programmed it correctly the drivers door LED/Light should flash (just try it if you cant see the flashing).... You can repeat the steps for all/any other keys you have, however there is a maximum of 4 keys allowed by the firmware. Hope this helps Christopher Jones from Staffordshire

Why don't my seat alhambra 2000 turn in morning ??

Answers

It could be your glow plugs, try replacing them, or at least turn the ignition switch on without starting the engine a couple of times before finally trying to start it. p.s. If all else fails you could always lie to the car and change the time :p Christopher Jones from Staffordshire

SEAT Exeo ST 2011

My Seat Exeo Tech appears to only accept DVDs for the sat nav. If I try to load a CD, it won’t go in. The screen says there are six places for CDs, one for DVD and two SD slots. Am I missing something? Is there a seperate box to put CDs in or is it supossed to be a stack system on the dash? The garage I just visited said I cannot play CDs whilst using the sat nav, well surely that can’t be right? (sport tech)

Answers

Buy two 8GB SD card online from Amazon for about £7 each. You write your CD music (in MP3 form) to SD card using iTunes or something similar. Then you can run up to 2,500 songs through the Bose speaker system - fantastic! Incidentally, my iPod socket to the Exeo is useless! So I don’t bother - SD cards are fine! Mike from Lancashire

The six CD places are actually up to five playlists that you can define on the iPod. CD6 will just play all music on iPod. There is only one dvd/cd drive, so you cannot play CDs if the Satnav DVD is in use. I have not tried it yet, but you can copy the DVD to an 8GB SD card, and use that in Slot 1 SD card socket. That should free up the CD drive for music. Hope this helps Capribloke from England

I HAVE A QUESTION, THE DISC FOR MY SAT NAV FREEZES AFTER ABOUT 10 /15/MINUTES AND GETS VERY HOT. THE SAME THING HAPPENS WITH MUSIC CD'S. I WANT TO UPGRADE THE DISCS TO UPGRADE MY SAT NAV AND HAVE MORE UP TO DATE INFORMATIONS ABOUT ROAD CHANGES AND SPEED CAMERAS ETC. CAN YOU HELP ME AND TELL ME THE SAFEST AND EASIEST WAY TO GET THIS DONE. MANY THANKS. MY CAR IS A SALOON SEAT EXEO TDI CR SPORT 170. MANY THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR ANY HELP. ESPECIALLY IF IT IS AFFORDABLE. PATIL from Surrey

I’ve just bought a 1999 T-reg SEAT Alhambra but the middle seat on the middle row has a seatbelt clip to fix a seatbelt in but no actual seatbelt and I can’t find a seatbelt anywhere. I just wondered if you could give me some indication to where the seatbelt should be please? It’s not on the roof and it doesn’t come from the floor. Thank you.

Answers

I realise you put this up 4 years ago... Check it's the right seat as the 2 rear lefts can both be swapped with the middle seat and you can use them with their 3 point belts but only the middle seat has a lap belt so check left hand side of the other seats and swap them around if you find a seat belt. Roof mounted 3 point belts only became fitted from mkii 2000 onwards john from Hampshire

My Seat Alhambra 2003 hazard lights come on intermittently when I am driving. I took it to my local garage and he checked everything and said he couldn't work out what the problem was so it must be the main electrical unit and that it would cost over 1 thousand pounds to repair! Any ideas if there is a simpler problem?

Answers

hi, Might be a little late, but I've had the same problem on my 2004. Turned out to be a wire that had chaffed in the loom that runs into the drivers door and was intermittently shorting out causing the hazards to flash. Not sure which wire it was as there are quite a few, but once I had repaired it with electrical tape the problem has gone. Apparently, excessive wear on the wires into the driver's door is a common fault, and it mainly affects the electric window operation. Regards. Mick from Yorkshire

I have this Alhambra as a hire car. Is there a switch to release the diesel cap? If so, where about is it on the car?

Answers

This got me too! There is no release lever as on many cars. You just press the front part of the flap and it opens. Be aware though that the flap is locked with the central locking so if you try to open it with the rest of the car (in particular the driver door) being unlocked it won’t open. How do I remove a rear light fitting on my SEAT Alhambra? I’ve removed the 3 retaining nuts but the fitting still won’t budge? (Old Style)

Answers

On my ’07 Alhambra there are louvred little hatches roughly about 4 inch wide and 10 inch high giving access to the rear light clusters. This panel easily pulls out using the finger grip at the top. Look inside. DON’T undo any steel nuts. There’s a black box about 6 inch high, 1 inch wide and 1 inch deep. it is retained by little black plastic "wedges" locking into little square holes in stiff red plastic plates. At the back of the black box and beside the red plates there are two black plates/ flaps. Squeeze these two flaps together and the black wedges will free themselves from the red retaining plates. You can then GENTLY work the black box out and change the stop, tail and indicator bulbs as needed. After changing bulbs you can GENTLY replace the bulb cluster and it will click into place. It is easy to get other wires tangled in the cluster box. Don’t force it ’cos it won’t go. Take it slow and push the interfering wires out the way. It’s a fiddly operation but doesn’t need force. Good luck. Mike Langford from Nottinghamshire

After getting 30 yards down the road, the brake warning light flashes with a beeping noise. I’ve checked the brake fluid which is on max. The handbrake light switch is not stuck on either. The car also has new front discs and pads. What could be the problem?

Answers

I have a SEAT Arosa and it has done 56,000 on a 51 plate. I GOT THE NOISE! I got a bit scared because I was driving on a fast road at the time. I have a feeling it’s to do with the service on mine because one is due like... 3 months ago, but it could be different for others Heidi Bloomer from Buckinghamshire
